In a surprise announcement just days after the close of GDC '09, Nintendo has revealed details of the next Mario game on Wii. Given the working title of Super Mario Ocean, this underwater adventure pits the Italian plumber against a new foe.
Details are scant at the moment, but here's what we know:
Majority of the gameplay involves swimming.Scuba equipment allows Mario to stay submerged for long periods of time.Nintendo has reworked the camera system to better allow underwater antics.Mario can set foot on dry land in a series of 32 caves for traditional platforming action.Bowser reduced to a smaller role, new villain featured.Keep your eyes peeled for more information!
